Microhive 2026 Awards – winners announced

28 April 2026

Workplace

We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Microhive Awards.

Each year, the Microhive Awards give us a moment to pause. To recognise the organisations who have embraced collective giving and celebrate the employees who quietly choose to give, month after month. And most importantly, to say thank you.
Because behind every percentage point of participation is a simple decision made by thousands of individuals to be part of something bigger. Together, those small decisions have now helped raise over £9 million for charities across the UK. And that’s something worth celebrating.

The story of 2026: Giving hasn’t disappeared. It’s adapting.

The latest CAF UK Giving Report paints a challenging picture: fewer people are donating, millions are cancelling regular gifts and affordability is reshaping how, and whether people give.

But across UK workplaces, a different story is emerging. At Microhive, we’re seeing thousands of employees still choosing to give not through large commitments, but through small, consistent, affordable acts of generosity. And that’s what the Microhive Awards 2026 celebrate. Because in a year where many felt they had to stop giving, our organisations made it possible for everyone to keep going.

From big donations to collective participation

This year’s Awards highlight a fundamental shift from a focus on not just about how much is given but how many people feel able to take part. We know that when giving becomes simple, affordable and part of everyday work life more people say yes, participation grows and impact becomes collective. Microhive is here to enable more people to give what they can. And the 2026 Awards reflect this.

The 2026 Microhive Awards: A behavioural ladder for change

In 2026, we’re seeing more organisations* than ever embedding giving into everyday workplace culture. It’s a powerful story:
• Nearly 1 in 3 employees (29%) are choosing to give
• Over half of organisations (52%) now have 20%+ participation
• 1 in 5 employers (20%) have built true giving cultures, with 40%+ of staff involved

Leading the way: NHS and beyond

One of the most powerful insights from this year’s Awards is where participation is strongest. NHS organisations are consistently among the highest performers, with Trusts like Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Resolution, South Western Ambulance Service, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust achieving over 30% participation.

This matters.

Because it shows that even in sectors facing significant financial pressure, employees still choose to give because giving feels affordable. This isn’t a decline in generosity. It’s a shift in how generosity is expressed.

Inclusion is the new measure of generosity

The Microhive Awards 2026 celebrate something bigger than fundraising totals. They celebrate inclusion. Because the most impactful organisations today don’t have to be those asking for the biggest donations, They’re the ones making it possible for the most people to take part. From hospitals to head offices to shop floors, one thing is clear: when giving feels affordable, people don’t step back, they step in.

A final thank you

To every organisation recognised this year, thank you. Thank you for creating a workplace where giving feels possible. Thank you for making generosity inclusive. And thank you for being part of a collective effort that has now raised over £9 million, and counting for charities across the UK.

At Microhive, we often talk about the power of small change. But this is what it really looks like. Thousands of people. Millions of small donations and a growing movement together. That’s what the Microhive Awards recognise. And that’s the future we’re building, together.
