The employer remains the data controller (and therefore responsible) for the personal data of its staff who are signed up to Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive). We aim to be a highly responsible data processor and keep your data safe.

Online sign up to Microhive:

This is where an employer has provided consent for their employees to use our website to collect the information required for individuals to sign up to Microhive (you may still know us as Pennies from Heaven in your place of employment). We will only ever send the data of those individuals who have signed up to their own employer. We will retain it on the website for no more than 30 days and on a secure Cloud, with military level encryption, for no more than 12 months. Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive) will not use this information for any other purpose.

Gift aid claims:

When you join Microhive you may give your consent for Gift Aid to be reclaimed on your donations if you are a UK Taxpayer. You agree for your employer to provide the charities, and Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive), with your name and address as well as the amount that you have donated, for this purpose only. When obtaining the information for Gift Aid the charities, and Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive), are only able to use this data for Gift Aid reclaim purposes and are subject to data protection legislation. Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive) will not use data given to us by employers in any other way. Pennies from Heaven Fundraising Limited (trading as Microhive) will not store the Gift Aid data once it has been sent to the charities. It will be hard deleted.

Right to access your personal information

You have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete information we hold about you corrected. If you believe the information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, please provide us with details and we will investigate and, where applicable, correct any inaccuracies.

You have a right to ask us to restrict the processing of some or all of your personal information in the following situations: if some information we hold on you isn’t right; we’re not lawfully allowed to use it; you need us to retain your information in order for you to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim; or you believe your privacy rights outweigh our legitimate interests to use your information for a particular purpose and you have objected to us doing so.
